DAAP celebrates the 70th annual fashion design runway show
Fashion show is the hottest ticket in town
Standing-room-only tickets are all that remain for the “hottest ticket in town,” the DAAP Fashion Show, celebrating a long history of 70 incredible shows in a brand-new venue on Friday evening, April 28, 2023: MegaCorp Pavillion, just across the river in Newport, Kentucky.
“The show will feature hundreds of unique, one-of-a-kind designs from our 48 incredibly talented fashion design students from the Class of 2023, modeled by more than 30 models, many who have walked runways across the nation and internationally,” says Zach Hoh, design program coordinator at the School of Design at the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning.

Over 700 seats sold out in the first few weeks of ticket availability, but the sellout was expected from the beginning due to the regional popularity of the event, so 250 standing-room-only tickets were put into the event plan.
"We are extremely positive about bringing our show to MegaCorp this year," says Laurie L. Wilson, the show director. "Their sister location in New York City has been the venue for New York Fashion Week designers such as Michael Kors. When PromoWest reached out to us about hosting our next show, we were beyond excited. The audience can truly experience a stellar evening out, viewing the future stars of the fashion industry in a unique environment."
The event will feature state-of-the art audio, video and sound,a live DJ, multiple bars, and numerous locations from which to view the runway, augmented by IMAG projection from various cameras around the runway.
“Over the years, we have held this show in a variety of venues around Cincinnati, but we knew this year would be a great comeback year for a large audience who wants to be in-person with us," Wilson says.
DAAP celebrates its centennial this academic year and graduates from their programs in design, architecture, art and planning are leading creative industry all over the globe.
