Dear UC Community,

Please be aware that UC Police are investigating two reports of stolen vehicles from Campus Green Garage. The first vehicle was stolen between 4 p.m. on Aug. 20 and noon on Aug. 21. The second vehicle was stolen between 8 p.m. on Aug. 20 and 7:30 a.m. on Aug. 21. This vehicle was recovered in another location and police have one suspect in custody.

There is no additional suspect description at this time. If you have information about these offenses, call UC Police at 513-556-1111.

Important safety reminders:

  • Keep your vehicle locked with the windows rolled up at all times. Take key fobs and spare keys with you.
  • If you own a Hyundai or Kia, your vehicle may be eligible for a free anti-theft software upgrade.
  • A steering wheel lock can help reduce your risk of auto theft and theft from auto and can be a visible deterrent to possible thieves.
  • Remove all belongings from plain sight, including loose change and cell phone chargers.
  • Take your valuables with you, or if you cannot bring them, remove them from sight before you arrive at your destination.
  • Park in well-lit areas.
  • If possible, install an audible alarm system.
  • If you are a victim of crime or observe suspicious activity, call 9-1-1 immediately.
  • Download the Bearcat Guardian app for additional resources. The app is available for free on the App Store or Google Play.

In a non-emergency situation you can reach UCPD at 513-556-1111 or Cincinnati Police at 513-765-1212. For more information about UC’s safety resources visit the Public Safety website.
