Wireless network maintenance set for March 11

Wireless and VPN access may be affected during planned upgrade

Students, faculty, and staff may experience interruptions to wireless network service on campus and VPN access off campus from 10 to 11 p.m., Monday, March 11, during a planned IT maintenance window.

What’s happening?

Digital Technology Solutions’ (DTS) Network Services Team will upgrade authentication servers to improve the login experience across the university’s wireless networks.

What you can expect

On campus, most devices already connected to the university’s wireless networks (UC_Secure Wireless, UC_Guest Wireless and Eduroam) will not be affected during the maintenance window. If your device disconnects, you will be able to log back into the wireless network after the maintenance window ends.

No new devices will be able to connect to a university wireless network between 10 and 11 p.m.

Off campus, most devices already connected to the VPN (Cisco AnyConnect Virtual Private Network) will not be affected during the maintenance window. If your device disconnects, you will be able to log back into the VPN after the maintenance window ends.

But no new devices will be able to connect to the VPN between 10 and 11 p.m.
