Search update: Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost
UC President announces Provost search committee
Dear UC Community,
A national search for our next Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost is underway. We are currently in the process of interviewing search firms, and I have appointed Interim Provost Kristi Nelson, PhD, to chair the search committee. Dr. Nelson previously served as our university’s provost from 2017 through 2021, following a distinguished 36-year career as a faculty member and university administrator. I’m confident that Dr. Nelson will do a tremendous job leading the search for our next chief academic officer.
The following members of the UC community will serve as members of the search committee, in accordance with University Rule 3361:10-6-02. I am grateful to each for agreeing to serve and dedicating their time to this critically important search:
- Kristi Nelson, Interim Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost (chair)
- Kevin Burke, Professor, College-Conservatory of Music and Head of Media Production
- Dan Carl, Professor and Director of Health Sciences, College of Allied Health
- Neelakshi Chatterjee, President, Graduate Student Government
- Brandi Elliott, Chair, Staff Senate and Executive Director, Student Affairs
- John (Marty) Emmert, Professor, College of Engineering and Applied Science, and Director of the NSF Center for Hardware and Embedded Systems Security and Trust
- Haider Ala Hamoudi, Dean and Nippert Professor of Law, College of Law
- Ryan Hays, Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation & Strategy Officer
- Susan Longfield Karr, Associate Professor, College of Arts and Sciences
- Tamika Odum, Chair, University Faculty and Faculty Senate and Associate Professor, UC Blue Ash
- Greg Postel, Senior Vice President of Health Affairs and Dean of the UC College of Medicine
- Madison Wesley, Student Body President, Undergraduate Student Government
In terms of a timeline, we expect to conduct multiple rounds of interviews beginning early in 2025. The university community will have an opportunity to meet finalists when those have been identified later in Spring semester. Our goal is to have our next academic leader in place by June 1.
Warm regards,
Neville G. Pinto
President
