Best and worst exercises for older adults

UC expert featured in U.S. News & World Report article

The University of Cincinnati's Victoria Heasley was featured in a U.S. News & World Report article discussing the best and worst exercises for older adults.

Heasley, MD, assistant professor in UC’s Colleges of Medicine and Engineering and Applied Science and a UC Gardner Neuroscience Institute physician, recommended that balance should be one focus for older adults.

“Simple at-home exercises such as timed single-leg stands, leg lifts and arm circles can also be effective for building balance and strength,” Heasley said. "The goal is to build a sustainable routine that supports long-term health and enhances your overall quality of life."
