Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has appointed Cincinnati business leader and philanthropist Larry Sheakley to the University of Cincinnati Board of Trustees for a 9-year term ending 2034.
Larry Sheakley
Sheakley is the chief executive officer of Sheakley, a family-owned, Cincinnati-based firm specializing in outsourced business services. A longtime supporter of education and regional development, Sheakley brings decades of leadership experience and a deep commitment to civic engagement.
UC Board of Trustees Chairwoman Monica Turner praised the appointment: “Larry’s dedication to the Cincinnati community and his entrepreneurial spirit make him a tremendous asset to UC. I look forward to working with him to continue building on the university’s impressive momentum.”
Sheakley has long been an advocate for the University of Cincinnati, particularly UC athletics, including as the lead donor for the recently opened Sheakley Indoor Practice Facility and Athletics Performance Center on campus. He and his wife, Rhonda, also contribute generously to many regional causes including Lighthouse Youth Services, the Sheakley Boys & Girls Club and the Cincinnati Ballet.
“We are honored to welcome Larry Sheakley to our Board of Trustees,” said UC President Neville G. Pinto. “Larry’s passion for UC and for higher education is well known. His addition strengthens a board that is already deeply engaged in the success of current students as well as future learners.”
