Exhibition and book celebrate The UC Art Collection
“Collecting Art” invites the public to explore works from UC’s 5,000-piece collection

The University of Cincinnati Art Collection (UCAC) announces the upcoming release of its first major publication — "Collecting Art: Reflections on Works at the University of Cincinnati" — accompanied by a landmark exhibition of the same name on display at the Meyers Gallery through Nov. 10.

The Meyers Gallery is located in UC’s Steger Student Life Center, 500 UC MainStreet.
The dual launch is the culmination of nearly five years of collaborative efforts that have elevated the UCAC into a dynamic hub for research, immersive student learning, and cross-disciplinary exploration.
The exhibition and book highlight selected works from the university’s 5,000-piece collection, ranging from antiquity to contemporary design. With over 2,500 pieces installed in more than 60 buildings across UC’s East and West campuses, as well as its Blue Ash and Clermont locations, the collection has become an essential and visible part of the campus landscape. Notably, works are also on view at the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Taft Museum, the Cincinnati Observatory, and in the Getty Villa’s international exhibition The Kingdom of Pylos: Warrior-Princes of Ancient Greece, on display through January 2026.
This milestone project has been made possible through the leadership of Emeritus Provost Kristi Nelson, Emeritus Dean Robert Probst, and the generous support of President Neville Pinto, in collaboration with UC’s faculty, staff, alumni, and student co-ops.
The exhibition "Collecting Art" serves as a visual companion to the richly illustrated publication, which will be released in September and available at major booksellers and online.
