Universities across the country set enrollment records
UC among four-year schools with a growing student body
The online public University Business reported that numerous four-year universities set enrollment records for the fall semester, including for first-year students.
The publication mentioned the University of Cincinnati which landed its largest enrollment ever, tallying 53,682 students. Online learners account for about 18% of UC’s student body.
Other universities in North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee and Kentucky also enjoyed record years of enrollment. The UNC system surpassed a quarter of a million students for the first time, thanks to enrollment growth across 15 of 16 campuses.
University Business reported that a host of universities across Texas are touting impressive numbers. The University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas at Arlington each set records for the number of first-year students and total enrollment.
The University of Tennessee system has posted record enrollment for the sixth consecutive year, thanks to all five campuses scoring increases. And in neighboring Kentucky, the University of Louisville expected its largest enrollment of about 25,000 students — just one year after breaking its first-year enrollment record.
