Photos:“Made You Look” pop-up showcase
More than 300 students and community members attended “Made You Look” on Sept. 24, a pop-up retail experience at the Tangeman University Center that showcased UC student creativity in partnership with Champion and the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP).

The event marked the launch of the Champion Student Made Collection, a line of officially licensed Bearcats apparel designed by DAAP students and produced with Champion/Unrivaled Teamwear. From nearly 100 submissions, 20 designs were selected and are now available at the UC Bookstore, operated by Follett.
Cincinnati Family Magazine covered the event, with editor Amanda Ciani highlighting what she described as “the good vibes” in an article now live on the publication’s website.

The project originated in spring 2025 through UC’s Experiential Exploration Program (EEP), which gives students real-world experience outside traditional co-op placements.
“Students left the experience with stronger portfolios, increased confidence, and a clearer understanding of how to design within brand parameters,” says Shelby Schaffer, assistant professor, educator, and DAAP fashion design co-op advisor.
The activation featured a pop-up shop, live DJ, photo booth, giveaways, and snacks, while emphasizing UC’s commitment to experiential learning in design, marketing, and merchandising.
