UC, Cincinnati Children's partnership lands $37.2M in federal funding
Grant supports the Center for Clinical & Translational Science
Millions of dollars in federal funding will support the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and Cincinnati Children's Hospital to advance translational science through the Center for Clinical & Translational Science & Training (CCTST), a partnership between the two institutions.
The center has received a seven-year, $37.2 million grant renewal from the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences at the National Institutes of Health to help further biomedical research and innovation. The grant renewal was recently featured in the Cincinnati Business Courier and on Spectrum News.
The grant renewal will help the center in its mission to improve research, bolster collaboration between scientists and help ensure new treatments reach the community more quickly. The program will also include more training for the next generation of researchers.
The partnership was founded in 2005 to support future scientific work and has secured funding since 2009. Since its formation, more than 8,000 investigators and trainees have been supported.
During the next seven years, it will transform into an integrated Clinical and Translational Learning System (CTLS) to help accelerate the discovery, dissemination and implementation of research to improve health.
