New federal work safety agency chiefs to balance rulemaking, policy changes
UC Law Professor Anne Lofaso speaks with Bloomberg Law
Bloomberg Law reports that a pair of newly-confirmed workplace safety agency chiefs will have to balance finalizing rulemaking on key issues like heat safety, while also following new directives from an administration seeking to curb regulations.
David Keeling, head of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and Wayne Palmer, head of the Mine Safety and Health Administration were confirmed by the Senate on October 7. Their regulatory agencies are part of the U.S. Department of Labor.
Bloomberg Law spoke with Anne Lofaso, a professor in the University of Cincinnati College of Law, about possible decisions by the new leaders. Lofaso, a former attorney for the National Labor Review Board teaches courses in labor law, employment law and constitutional law.
