UC Students: Try an Honors Seminar in Spring 2026

Honors seminars are small, interdisciplinary classes, and almost always include a project-based experiential learning opportunity—step out of your comfort zone this spring, and step in to what the UHP has to offer.

Uncover the history of Black witches and US civil rights movements, learn about the intersections between Afro-religious traditions (including Vodou and Conjure) and Afrofuturist literature and media, and play and design games that explore Afro-religious themes and culture.

Try this class if you’re into: indie games, storytelling grounded in culture and place, folk religions, or history.

Collaborate with local organizations to support climate and sustainability goals, gain confidence in your own ability to make a difference through self-designed Wild Work projects, and discover urban solutions for sustainable development.

Try this class if you’re into: problem-solving, debates, scavenger hunts, or citizen science.

Tell the story of American history through architecture in this seminar, which uses fifteen notable buildings to get insight into how our country has changed over time. (This seminar includes site visits to the Over-the-Rhine Museum and Terrace Plaza.) Connect moments from our shared past to the events and designs we’re living in today!

Try this class if you’re into: architecture, road trips, or social science.

Discover tools that are designed to be invisible: the objects, software, and systems that let you check out a library book, ride a bus, or order takeout. Use design to communicate with and learn from others, and create a service-design proposal for citizen empowerment.

Try this class if you’re into: infographics, libraries and museums, entrepreneurship, or public transit.

You generate data every time you scroll on your phone, stream music, or check out at Kroger—but what happens to that data? How is it being stored, shared, and used? Explore the world of Big Data and open-access data sets, and discover the benefits and challenges of our current data landscape.

Try this class if you’re into: data ethics, innovative technologies, or analyzing information on a huge scale.

Make a real-world impact in real time: give away up to $50k in funds to local nonprofits affiliated with UC and UC Health. Get firsthand experience creating a giving proposal, and learn how to measure the impact that philanthropy makes on the community!

Special note: while most honors seminars require a permissions request and a 3.2 GPA, Doing Good Together does not require a form, and is open to all undergraduates with a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Practice meaningful communication across personal and political lines of difference in this seminar. Enact the principles of nonviolent communication, and learn skills that can help you forge stronger personal and professional relationships.
