Lindner, UC alumni honored at Power 25 ceremony
Cincinnati Business Courier recognizes 25 people, companies and organizations impacting the region
The Carl H. Lindner College of Business and the University of Cincinnati were well-represented at the Cincinnati Business Courier’s first-ever Power 25 reception at the Renaissance Cincinnati Downtown Hotel on Dec. 2.
According to the Courier, Power 25 honored the people, companies and organizations backing the efforts to “add population, raise Cincinnati’s profile, create jobs and contribute to the region’s economic strength and vibrancy.”

Lindner dean Marianne Lewis, PhD, served as co-emcee of the awards presentation with Jamie Smith (Publisher) and Tom Demeropolis (Editor) from the Courier, as well as with David Nevers, Western & Southern Financial Group Vice President of Public Relations and Corporate Relations.
“It’s a privilege to be here celebrating the leaders and organizations shaping our region’s future,” Lewis said in her opening remarks. “At UC and the Lindner College of Business, we see every day how collaboration fuels progress — when industry, education and community work together to shape the future of business. Our cooperative approach connects talent, research and real-world problem solving to accelerate impact and innovation. The Power 25 honorees embody that spirit.”
Among the Lindner and UC-affiliated honorees were:
- The University of Cincinnati, with President Neville Pinto, PhD, accepting the award;
- John F. Barrett, Bus ’71, chairman, president and CEO of Western & Southern;
- Total Quality Logistics, whose president is Kerry Byrne, Bus ’87;
- And experiential marketing firm Agar, whose managing partner is Andrew Salzbrun, Bus ’08.
Awardees, along with their team members and guests, spent time pre- and post-award presentation connecting and networking with the city’s fellow changemakers.
