Real estate students, professionals gather for UC/PNC Economic Outlook
Annual UC Real Estate Center event offers perspective on local, national and global economic trends
The 32nd annual UC/PNC Economic Outlook was held on Feb. 13, with more than 350 attendees — including more than 70 real estate students — taking in perspective on local, national and international economic developments at the newly reopened First Financial Center in downtown Cincinnati.
The UC Real Estate Center and PNC Bank co-hosted the event, which welcomed Lindner students, faculty and staff; local and regional real estate leaders and professionals; and Real Estate Center champions and supporters.
Attendees received insight on local, national and global economic, real estate and geopolitical developments from keynote speakers Stuart Hoffman, MS ’73, PhD ’75, senior economic adviser, PNC Financial Services Group, and Greg Valliere, chief U.S. policy strategist, AGF Investments.
More than 70 Lindner and UC students attended the UC/PNC Economic Outlook at the First Financial Center.
Real Estate Center Executive Director Carl Goertemoeller opened the program noting just how much has changed economically since the first Outlook program in 1994. He also thanked the center’s Board of Executive Advisors in Real Estate (BEARE) and corporate partners: PNC Bank (premier partner); Eagle Realty Group (platinum partner); and Brandicorp, Hills Properties, Kroger, Neyer Properties and North American Properties (gold partners).
“Without their collective efforts, we could not do what we do,” he noted.
Warren Weber, PNC Bank Regional President, Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, said that PNC was a proud champion of the Outlook.
“This forum has become a cornerstone for thoughtful discussion about where our economy has been and — more importantly — where it is headed.”
Last hurrah for longtime keynotes
Hoffman and the retiring Valliere resumed their keynote roles for the final time as a duo, offering their trademark expertise and wit. Hoffman guided the audience through PNC’s 2026 economic forecast, with Valliere providing informed insight on the national and global political and geopolitical events that could affect the economy.
Goertemoeller and Gary Painter, PhD, BEARE Chair and Professor of Real Estate, joined Hoffman and Valliere onstage for an audience Q&A to close the event.
Hoffman (first row, fourth from left) and Valliere (first row, sixth from right) presented to more than 350 attendees, including Real Estate Center staff, faculty and students.
