More than 250 engineering student projects on display at CEAS EXPO

The annual CEAS EXPO is Tuesday, April 7, 2026

The local community is invited to explore the innovative engineering student projects at the CEAS EXPO on April 7 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Fifth Third Arena. The annual event features capstone projects from the University of Cincinnati graduating seniors from the College of Engineering and Applied Science.

More than 250 student groups are registered to present at this year's CEAS EXPO, presented by DRT Holdings, LLC. One student project was recently highlighted by WLWT. The group, Project S.E.R.V.E., designed a residual limb warming system to help athletes with prosthetic limbs avoid issues with equipment and prevent further injury. Members of the team have spent months developing this compression sleeve-style device to unveil at the CEAS EXPO.

Decades of students and alumni of the College of Engineering and Applied Science have made invaluable contributions to the world through innovative engineering devices, discoveries, and groundbreaking research. The student projects at this year's CEAS EXPO, like Project S.E.R.V.E., are potentially world changing.

All undergraduate academic departments will be represented at the college's signature annual event. Projects include biomedical devices, AI developments, and novel research.

One group has developed reMIND, a wearable AI companion for people with dementia that provides personalized memory support, guidance, and emergency assistance. Another group of students explores the potential to reuse the thermal energy of a wastewater treatment plant for the heating and cooling of buildings, analyzing both the cost-effectiveness and environmental impact. These are just two examples of projects that have the potential to make a real-world impact. Other projects are designed to make an impact in the UC community.

For instance, one group has designed a reliable and efficient system to remove dirt and debris from the UC Pavilion's exterior building façade. Another group has developed UC Navvy: a navigation solution designed for the UC community to improve campus accessibility and efficiency. UC engineers are difference makers and world changers. The presenting students at the 2026 EXPO represent the next generation.

Students compete for various EXPO awards based on evaluations from more than 200 volunteer judges, a group comprised of alumni, industry members, graduate students, faculty and staff.

The event is organized by CEAS Tribunal, the college's student government, with generous support from presenting sponsor DRT Holdings, LLC, awards sponsored by Marmon Holdings, numerous additional sponsors, and lunch for student participants and judges sponsored and provided by Lucius Q.

We welcome all members of the UC and Cincinnati communities to attend the CEAS EXPO. Undergraduate students, faculty, staff, family members, and friends are encouraged to join us in celebrating the hard work and innovation of our fifth-year students.

General admission of the CEAS EXPO will open to the public from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at UC's Fifth Third Arena. Attendees will have the chance to explore the wide range of student work across departments and disciplines.

We invite guests to stay for the closing ceremony, which will begin at 4:00 p.m., where category winners will be announced and awards will be presented.
