Local and national media highlight renaming of Donald P. Klekamp College of Law

The name of retired Cincinnati attorney and philanthropist, Donald P. Klekamp, will grace the name of a University of Cincinnati college. The UC Board of Trustees approved the name, Donald P. Klekamp College of Law, on March 30.

Haider Ala Hamoudi, JD, dean and Nippert Professor of Law, of the Donald P. Klekamp College of Law, spoke with WLWT5 about the largest gift in the college’s history, made in honor of the 1957 alumnus.

“He was a very committed lawyer, practiced law at the highest level of competence and ethics that anyone possibly could.”

“This transformational gift allows us to rethink legal education from the ground up and make the kind of transformational investments that we had the ambition to do but weren’t able to do,” added Hamoudi.

The gift will be pledged over time to support four core areas within the college, including a robust scholarship program, experiential learning, student success and the Corporate Law Center.
