UC students organize free health clinic happening July 11-12

The University of Cincinnati student chapter of Remote Area Medical is holding its annual free health clinic July 11-12. The clinic is open to adults and children, with no income requirements. Anyone in the area who needs medical, dental or vision care will have a chance to get it for free, with no insurance required, as Local 12/WKRC-TV Cincinnati recently reported. 

UC student organizers have recruited healthcare providers, who will offer basic physical exams, women’s health screenings and prescription consultations. Dental and vision services are among the most popular offerings.

“Here in Cincinnati, it's about the underserved populations, urban populations that can't afford these medical services,” said Emma Dalton, social media manager for Remote Area Medical and a medical sciences student.

“So, people come in, and they'll get cavities filled, they'll be teeth extracted, if need be, regular cleanings, overall maintenance that a lot of people don't have the ability to receive, as well as vision care, free eye exams,” said Ella Davis, recruitment chair for Remote Area Medical and a nursing student.

The clinic will be held at Saint Xavier High School, 600 W. North Bend Road in Finneytown. It opens at 6 a.m. Saturday, July 11, and at 6 a.m. Sunday, July 12. Services are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. People are advised to come as early as possible to receive care. The parking lot will open the night before.
