Keith Griffler, Assistant Professor, African American Studies, Arts and Sciences and Kevin Burke, Electronic Media, College Conservatory of Music received a $20,000 major media grant from the Ohio Humanities Council, awarded December 2001 for the public television documentary "Wade in the Water" about the Underground Railroad.

Merrill, who studies the mental and social health benefits of communication technologies, told The Verge that extensive research has been conducted on AI chatbots that provide mental health support, and the results are largely positive.
