CCM Prep Chases Away Summer's Dog Days
The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's Preparatory Department Summer Band Experience provides young musicians with summer practice and performance opportunities at the University of Cincinnati's world-class Corbett Center for the Performing Arts July 31 to August 11.
Summer Band Experience runs Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., with each morning spent in band and small group instruction, allowing students to refresh their technical skills and learn new music before the school year begins. The two weeks of preparation culminate with a performance in Patricia Corbett Theater at noon on Friday, August 11 under the direction of Dr. Ann M. Porter, Assistant Professor of Music Education at CCM.
Summer Band Experience is open to all woodwind and brass players who have completed fifth through eighth grade and have been playing their instrument for at least one year. Media Production students from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music received 20 nominations in the 2025 Student Production Awards from the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). The nominations span 12 categories from non-fiction and fiction to arts/entertainment and sports.
