UC Clermont will Host Regional Service Learning Workshop

UC Clermont College, in collaboration with the American Association of Community Colleges and Ohio Campus Compact will sponsor the 2008 Regional Service Learning Workshop on October 30 from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

 

The keynote speaker is Roger Henry, director of Service Learning at Brevard Community College in Florida.  In addition, there will be two concurrent breakout discussions on curricular integration and building and sustaining effective community partnerships. There will also be faculty and community partner panel presentations.

 

Service-learning is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities, according to the National Service-Learning Clearinghouse.
