VIDEO: In a UC Minute, See Local Students and Critters at UC s Science Fair
The University of Cincinnati Science & Engineering Expo, held on Saturday, March 12, drew hundreds of area students and their families to campus.
The students showed the results of recent experiments on a variety of topics, including
- Do strengthening shampoos really strengthen hair? (No. Save your money!)
- Which oil pops the most popcorn.
- The environmental effects of detergents.
- How to best clean birds feathers soiled by oil.
- How can light be altered to help plants grow faster? (Overall, red light is best.)
- Does peppermint serve as a memory aid? (Yes)
- The effects of water depth and wave velocity on a tsunami.
- Is there a hereditary factor in fingerprint patterns? (Yes)
