Save the Date: UC's Homecoming Game Set for Oct. 19

Mark your calendars, Bearcats fans: The University of Cincinnati will host the University of Connecticut during the Homecoming game Oct. 19 at historic Nippert Stadium. The UConn Huskies are one of the Bearcats' foes in the new American Athletic Conference.

The annual Homecoming parade will highlight

a week's worth of special events on and around campus leading up to the game

. This year's theme, "Once Upon a Homecoming," promises to lend a touch of fairy tale whimsy to the fancy floats and marching musicians wending along Clifton Avenue.

The parade will begin four hours before game time on Oct. 19. The game time is dictated by television coverage and will be announced no later than Oct. 13. Other standout activities include:

  • The Homecoming Kickoff Party from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the Myers Alumni Center. The free event features live music and “Cincinnati favorites” food.
  • The Bearcats Blitz pre-game tailgate party (and other tailgating opportunities) four hours prior to game time Oct. 19 at the alumni center. The football team’s traditional CATWALK to Nippert begins here about two and a half hours before kickoff.
