UC Campus Recreation Offers Unique, Affordable Fitness Classes to Help Stick with New Year s Resolutions

Campus Recreation wants to be the “fitness home” for each of its guests. Whether a member or not, classes like Argentine Tango, Resolution Training Camp, TRX Total Body, Tai Chi, Acro Yoga and Run Your First 5K may be just what’s needed to stay on track with new year goals! There are unique offerings available that can help hone in on a skill, or keep on the path to a fit and healthy spring. Classes are offered at both Uptown campuses and all times of the day to fit varying schedule needs – and if interested in a class that isn’t listed below, don’t worry – classes could always be customized and added for participants*!

No matter the specific fitness interests, these classes fit any budget – prices average about $5 per class meeting, and classes meet in either 6 or 12 week increments! This is the perfect time to set some new goals, maybe give up a sweet treat or two, and use that money toward a fabulous experience with one of Campus Recreation’s highly trained and engaging fitness instructors! Growing up on Ludlow Ave. in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Clifton, Harrison Fowler had planned to enroll in the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) at the University of Cincinnati. UC was close to home, and ROTC seemed like the right choice. But life had other plans. At the last minute, Fowler withdrew from ROTC and enrolled to earn his bachelor’s in Spanish, which meant he needed a study-abroad experience to complete his degree. He was apprehensive, but completed his requirement in Madrid, in a move that would change the direction of his life. Says Fowler of his foreign-language major, and his experience abroad: “Speaking another language opens up a whole other world and relationships for you.”
