UC Blue Ash Provides New Outreach to Parents

UC Blue Ash College is reaching out to parents of current and prospective students in new ways.

The college recently released the new UC Blue Ash Parent/Family Calendar and added new information on its website dedicated to family members of current or prospective students. Cady Short-Thompson, dean of UC Blue Ash, also sends regular emails to parents with news and updates.

The different communication vehicles provide information on a wide range of topics, including how to apply for financial aid; how to prepare for college-level courses; tips for studying; details about free academic support services; dates for key campus events; and important deadlines regarding financial aid, registration and graduation.

The information can be especially helpful when you consider that about half of the 5,000-plus students who attend UC Blue Ash are the first in their family to go to college.

“We are focused on providing a supportive environment and giving our students the tools they need to earn a high-quality education, graduate and pursue their career goals,” said Short-Thompson. “There is a lot to learn to be successful in college and it goes beyond what is taught in the classroom.”

Along with tips and important dates, the new calendar features attractive photos that include images from the 135-acre UC Blue Ash campus, as well as pictures of students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Printed editions of the 2015 calendar were mailed to the families of all freshman students at UC Blue Ash and copies are available at the college. The calendar is also offered in a digital format through the parent/family website at
