UC Surplus Holds Public Sale on Feb. 7

The next UC Surplus Equipment Department's public sale is set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, at the facility located at 5121 Fishwick Drive.

Special inventory to be offered includes:

  • 1995 Chevy G20 cargo van
  • 2001 Ford F550 stake body truck with working lift gate
  • 1996 Chevy Astro cargo van
  • 1993 Ford Taurus
  • 2000 GMC 3500 SL 4x4 marked down from $2,375 to $1,375 
  • A large selection of newly received Borg-Warner bucket chairs in multiple colors
  • High-quality adjustable lab stools
  • Two hospital beds with mattresses
  • Several high-top bar stools
  • A selection of standard size refrigerators
  • Several extra heavy-duty shelving units
  • LCD projectors
  • A large selection of 19-inch computer monitors at $30 each 
  • A handful of remaining vintage Perey turnstiles
  • Paramount leg and chest exercise machines on final markdown to $40 each (down from $200)
  • Metal storage cabinets
  • A variety of computers (with no hard drives or operating systems)

Purchases can be made via check, credit card (Visa, Master Card, Discover) or money order, but no cash is accepted.

PhD student uses engineering to understand cardiovascular system

Drawn to the University of Cincinnati for the strong reputation in cardiovascular research and the connections with the UC Medical Center, Shrayesh Manegaonkar is pursuing a PhD in mechanical engineering at the College of Engineering and Applied Science. Recently, he was named Graduate Student Engineer of the Month for his work on biofluid mechanics, aiming to develop better diagnostic tools for cardiovascular diseases.
