Procter & Gamble Donates to UC Blue Ash Dental Hygiene Clinic
Procter & Gamble is giving the faculty, staff and students in the dental hygiene program at UC Blue Ash College a lot of reasons to smile. They are all feeling more cheerful thanks to a $12,000 donation to the program by Procter & Gamble (P&G) and Crest + Oral-B.
The money will be used to add new equipment to the Dental Hygiene Clinic at UC Blue Ash, including a high-tech automatic processor for radiographs and a child DXXTR mannequin that serves as a dental model for students and allows them to practice before treating real patients.
This gift will have a huge impact on our department by making sure that our students are continuing to learn on the same state-of-the-art equipment you will find in most dental offices, said Dr. Cyndee Stegeman, chair of the Dental Hygiene Department. We are very appreciative of Procter & Gamble for their generosity and continued support of our program.
A portion of the grant also will go toward scrubs for the students and general supplies for the clinic, such as gloves, masks, gauze, saliva ejectors and cotton tip applicators.
The donation is part of an ongoing partnership between the college and P&G that includes sponsorship of the UC Smiles program at UC Blue Ash, which provides free dental care to area school children.
The Dental Hygiene Clinic at UC Blue Ash is open to the public and provides dental evaluations and preventive treatment for a nominal fee during the academic year. Dental hygiene students provide the care under the supervision of faculty. To learn more, go to
