UC s African American Cultural and Resource Center Hosts 24th Annual Tyehimba Celebration
The University of Cincinnati's 24th annual Tyehimba Cultural Graduation Celebration will be held at 7 p.m. May 1 in Fifth Third Arena.
The annual Afrocentric graduation ceremony is presented by the
African American Cultural and Resource Center
(AACRC). Tyehimba, which in Swahili stands for "We Stand as a Nation," is designed to acknowledge the academic achievements of UC graduates.
This years celebration is themed Glory Come Now. The keynote speaker is Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge Fanon Rucker, who earned his law degree from UC's College of Law in 1996.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., and tickets are required. For more information, contact the AACRC at 513-556-1173.
