UC Surplus Holds Public Sale on June 6

The next UC Surplus Equipment Department's public sale is set for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, June 6, at the facility located at 5121 Fishwick Drive.

Special inventory to be offered includes:

  • Three vehicles including a 1992 Ford E-150 cargo van, 1994 Chevrolet Lumina sedan and 1994 Chevrolet cargo van
  • A supply of LCD projectors
  • Several laptops and desktops, mostly Dell
  • $2-a-gallon remnant paint
  • A pool table and a foosball table
  • Lab stools at $15 each
  • A big selection of lab glass
  • Artwork, including many large wall pieces
  • A selection of plasma and LCD TVs
  • An Ahrens Sweepstar 936 power sweeper marked down to $175
  • Additions to the Surplus Management book library at $2 each
  • A large selection of home and office furniture, including computer tables, office desks, shelves, cabinets, couches and lounge chairs
  • Many other unique lab and electronic items

Purchases can be made via check, credit card (Visa, Master Card, Discover) or money order, but no cash is accepted.

John Kelly would like a word

A 2012 graduate of UC's Master of Education program, John Kelly's career journey has taken a very interesting path. A bookish kid growing up, the author of MashedRadish.com went on to study English in undergraduate school, then, with a plan to become an educator, he pursued and completed graduate work at UC's School of Education. Life had other plans for John though, and he eventually found himself in a VP role at Dictionary.com. Study: Additional radiation for liver cancer does not increase toxicity

New research led by University of Cincinnati Cancer Center researchers published in the American Journal of Clinical Oncology found external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) is safe to administer to patients with liver cancer even after they undergo a targeted internal radiation therapy called Y90.
