UC Blue Ash eMedia Students Make it Eight in a Row at Regional Awards
For the eighth consecutive year, students in Electronic Media Communications (eMedia) from the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College are being recognized with Student Production Awards from the Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).
The eMedia students and their faculty advisors earned the recognition against a record field of 97 college and university entries from across Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia. Television industry professionals judged the entries on behalf of the academy.
Brian Pfaff won awards in the categories of Editing and Photography for his music video
"Misnomer: Hopeless Semantics"

). Brians project also received an Honorable Mention for Short Form Fiction.
Other Honorable Mention recipients from UC Blue Ash include: Seth Bowman, in the category of Short Form Non-Fiction for his video
"Rimshot: A History of the Drum Set"

); and Sam Clarke, in the category of Short-Form Non-Fiction for his documentary,
"The Arcades Legacy

The consistent recognition of our students and faculty by industry professionals in this prestigious competition, especially in the craft categories, underscores the technical strength of our program and provides important entryways into the industry for our graduates, noted H. Michael Sanders, professor and department chair of Electronic Media Communications at UC Blue Ash.
The faculty advisors for the award-winning student productions from UC Blue Ash College include professor Sanders, Dave Hubble and William Boyle, with the support of faculty and staff in Electronic Media Communications. The awards will be presented July 25 during the annual Regional Emmy Awards Gala at the Keeneland Entertainment Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Professor Sanders was also recently elected to the Board of Governors of the Ohio Valley Chapter of NATAS, one of 20 regional chapters of the Academy across the U.S. It is dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of television and the promotion of creative leadership for artistic, educational and technical achievements within the television industry in the four-state region of Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia.
