UC's Hoxworth Partners with Local Chili Maker for Summer Blood Drive Tour

If the idea of saving lives doesn’t push you to help, maybe free cheese coneys will do the trick!

Hoxworth Blood Center is partnering with Gold Star Chili for the 6th annual Summer Blood Drive Tour, coming to a neighborhood near you.

Come out to celebrate the famous local eatery’s 50th anniversary by giving life to those in need and take home a voucher for two free cheese coneys and a limited edition t-shirt.

“The past five years of the Summer Blood Drive tour have been extremely successful,” said Alecia Lipton, Hoxworth spokesperson. “To date, the partnership with Gold Star Chili has resulted in the collection of 6,364 blood products which helped to save 19,092 lives in the Tri-State.”

The tour is scheduled to kick-off Monday, August 3 from 12:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at the Finneytown Gold Star, located at 6531 Winton Road, and will hit 23 local spots throughout the month of August.
