Next UC Blue Ash Entrepreneur Speaker Series is Oct. 1

The UC Blue Ash College Entrepreneur Speaker Series is back with featured guest Craig Kurz, owner and board member of HoneyBaked Ham.

The event will be held from 7-8 p.m. Oct. 1 in Muntz Auditorium on the UC Blue Ash campus. It is free and open to the public.

The UC Blue Ash College Entrepreneur Speaker Series features successful entrepreneurs from the region sharing helpful advice for anyone who is, or may be interested in, operating their own business. You also can expect insight from their experiences – how the business was started, challenges they faced and accomplishments they celebrated along the way. This is an interactive event; guests are interviewed by Kent Lutz, assistant professor of business/economics at UC Blue Ash, and also take questions from the audience. Past guests have been Jeff Wyler of the Wyler Automotive Group and Buddy LaRosa, founder of LaRosa’s Pizza.

At the Oct. 1 event, Kurz will share stories about the meat slicer his grandfather invented and nobody wanted to buy; it was eventually used to create the famous spiral-sliced ham that helped launch the business in 1957. He also will provide insight to the business model that turned this small family business into an iconic brand with more than 460 locations across the U.S. and a new location that just opened this summer in Japan. HoneyBaked Ham has built a reputation for high quality with products that are associated with nearly every holiday we celebrate.

Along with the interactive discussion, the event will be immediately followed by a reception when audience members can meet the featured guest and enjoy free samples from HoneyBaked Ham.
