Nzingha Dalila leads the "Journey to Advocacy" workshop, which takes place from
2-3:30 p.m. in room 400A of the Tangeman University Center
. Participants will use role play and art to gain an increased awareness of "spotlight anxiety," white privilege and and learn how to be a more effective advocate for racial and social justice.
Dalila, an assistant professor of humanities and social sciences at UC Clermont College, has more than 19 years experience providing mental health and chemical dependency counseling to adults, adolescents and their families, seven years of which have been in higher education. She previously served as an adjunct instructor to graduate students on counseling theories, mental health and substance use assessment and diagnosis, community counseling and counseling in culturally diverse populations and foundations seminars to doctoral counseling students.
She holds a bachelor's degree and EdD from the University of Cincinnati, as well as a master's Master's degree of Science from East Central University.
