UC Clermont Names Experiential Learning and Career Services Director

UC Clermont College recently named Monika Royal-Fischer the Program Director of Experiential Learning and Career Services.

In her new role at UC Clermont, Royal-Fischer will be working directly with students to help them launch careers when they graduate - whether they are pursuing an associate degree or transferring. She will work one-on-one with students in a variety of ways including: creating resumes and cover letters, career exploration, mock interviews, internships, networking and social media use.

She will also be working directly with area businesses to identify career opportunities for UC Clermont students, as well as broaden the scope of experiential learning to include more internships, job shadowing, externships and on-campus events.

“I hope to help students and alumni step from college to career as easily as possible. My ambitious goals include hosting more career days, more employers on campus, future event partnerships with Student Activities and finding ways to support faculty with career-focused initiatives already underway. Most importantly, I want to help ensure that students who want to have an experiential learning opportunity (internship, job shadow, informational interview, mentor/mentee) have a chance to do so,” said Royal-Fischer.

Royal-Fischer has spent the last 10 years in recruiting, career coaching and development, experiential learning, internship coordination working most recently at Gateway Community and Technical College and with first generation college students as the Career and Training Strategist.

She is a proud University of Cincinnati alum, currently serving as chair of McMicken Arts and Sciences Alumni Relations Committee and as a member of the McMicken College Advisory Board. She is a member of the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce Women Excel (WE Lead) program: class of 2003 and 40 under 40 – Class of 2010.
