Feb. 4 Open Brainstorming Session for Researchers Focused on Work and Well-Being
Work. It consumes much of our days and waking thoughts. But how does it connect with overall well-being? How does work shape our lives and societies?
Research about the impact of work on well-being and the role of work in society, as well as concepts about well-being, crosses disciplines and colleges. Researchers who examine these topics agree that combining disparate disciplinary approaches to the same subjects can yield unexpected and rich rewards.
Thats why researchers from the University of Cincinnati's McMicken College of Arts & Sciences, the Carl H. Lindner College of Business and the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health are hosting a first-ever brainstorming session to bring together work and well-being scholars from across campuses on Thursday, Feb. 4, from noon until 1:30 p.m. in Stratford Heights Pavilion Banquet Hall.
Sponsored by the Lindner College of Business Research Excellence Committee and the McMicken College of Arts & Sciences, the session will be led by Suzanne Masterson, professor of management; Heather Zoller, professor of communication; and Kaori Fujishiro, a NIOSH senior epidemiologist.
At this preliminary brainstorming session, attendees will work to help identify new opportunities for collaborations and explore an interdisciplinary framework for new research ideas, according to organizers.
All are welcome, but attendees must RSVP by Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 5 p.m.
