UC Official To Lead Ohio Lobbying Association

Mike Carroll, the assistant vice president for Governmental Relations at the University of Cincinnati, will serve as the next president of the

Ohio Lobbying Association

.

The nonprofit organization of public policy professionals elected Carroll to the one-year term during its annual meeting Wednesday in Columbus.

Carroll, who serves on UC’s Columbus-based lobbying team, focuses on

governmental relations

for the university’s Office of Research, James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy and colleges of Allied Health, Medicine and Nursing.  

As president of the OLA, Carroll will lead its board of trustees in overseeing the volunteer organization of more than 350 members in discussions of public policy and professional issues and serve as the voice of government affairs professionals before policymakers.

His role also includes overseeing the development and implementation of professional and public education programs, monitoring government legislative and administrative activities and directing recommendations on public policy decisions relevant to the OLA and its statewide lobbying activities.
