Lifeguard Training Available at the University of Cincinnati
The American Red Cross certifies more people every year as lifeguards than any other group in the country. Summer pools will be hiring soon. Get your teen ready for a summer job with lifeguard certification at UCs Campus Recreation Center (CRC).
Anyone at least 15 years old by the last day of the class, Feb. 28, can sign up," said Bob Weeks, the center's assistant director for aquatics. "The class will certify successful participants in First Aid, Lifeguard, CPR and AED use for two years.
The certification is recognized on a national scale, Weeks added, so students can take the class at UC and get a job almost anywhere in the country.
The CRC class will take place over a period of two weekends, and the rate is very reasonable. Some other locations can charge up to $100 more than our non-member price, said Weeks.
