Kids Can Catch the Acting Bug This Spring at UC Clermont's Calico Children's Theatre
UC Clermonts Calico Childrens Theatre features Calico Acting Classes beginning April 6.
The Calico Childrens Theatre will partner this spring with the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park to provide childrens acting classes for grades K-8. The intent of all classes is to introduce the student to the beginning concepts of performance. No prior experience is necessary. Acting classes are held on the UC Clermont College campus in the Krueger Auditorium and additional spaces.
Acting Adventures Through Time!
April 6 - May 4, consecutive Wednesdays, 6 - 7 p.m.
Class for grades K-2
Cost- $70 per child
Step into our time machine as we embark on an adventure through time. This introductory acting class will support students as they develop skills in storytelling, creative problem solving and character development. Students will join our professional teaching artists in prehistoric times, the wild west, and the future to create stories and characters through scene studies and theatre games.
Drama Technique I
April 6 - May 4, consecutive Wednesdays, 6 - 7:30 p.m.
Class for grades 3-4
Cost- $80 per child
A perfect class to dip your toes into the world of acting and theatre! Through improvisation, monologue and story drama students will create their own performance version of a traditional folk-tale. The class will be rounded out with exercises and theatre games to build upon skills of vocal projection, creative movement, confidence, and collaboration.
Drama Technique II
April 7 - May 5, consecutive Thursdays, 6 - 7:30 p.m.
There will be two classes for this session.
Class for grades 5-6
Class for grades 7-8
Cost- $80 per child
Through improvisation, monologue and scene work students will get a deeper understanding of actors' methods and training techniques. The class will be rounded out with exercises and theatre games to build upon skills of vocal projection, creative movement, confidence, and collaboration.
