UC Clermont College Names Steve Ellis as Head Basketball Coach
UC Clermont College names Steve Ellis as Mens Head Basketball Coach.
Ellis comes to UC Clermont with more than 25 years of coaching experience. He was most recently the head coach at Mariemont High School (2008-2016) where he led them to multiple winning seasons including Cincinnati Hills League Championship (2011) for the first time in 20 years.
Ellis becomes the Cougars fifth head basketball coach since the program began in 1990.
Ellis is looking forward to meeting the returning players as well as recruiting great talent to play at UCC. "This is a dream come true! said Ellis. "I am thankful for the confidence shown from UCC and will work hard to bring back the winning tradition!"
Ellis coaching experience includes varsity head coach at Mariemont High School for 7 years and varsity assistant at Anderson High School for 19 years. Also assisted in many collegiate basketball camps and clinics.
The UC Clermont Cougars participate in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). Ellis plans on instilling great effort and great defense so they can compete and qualify for the national tournament.
Ellis lives in Anderson Township with his wife Donna, step-son Cameron, and daughters Abby & Sami.
The UC Clermont Cougars participate in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). UC Clermont Athletics includes women's volleyball, men's & women's soccer, mens and womens basketball, baseball and softball. The Cougars have been successful - bringing home national championship titles in mens and womens basketball and baseball. In addition, the volleyball and softball programs have been ranked nationally and have been highly competitive in national tournament play.
