Be Well UC Stress Free for 2016 Challenge Was a Success!

The first Be Well UC Challenge was a success! 207 individuals tracked their sleep, activity and relaxation for 5 weeks. The true benefit is to learn and work toward increasing time spent doing activities that can directly impact levels of stress, but participants also earned up to 50 points ($50) for weekly participation.

All who participated, including those who joined us using the paper tracking sheet, were entered into a drawing for one of four $25 UC Bookstore gift cards. Winners include:

  1. Leah Chamberlain
  2. Barbara Hayes
  3. Kyle Neumann
  4. Rick Warne

All participants were asked to complete a survey to help improve upon challenges for the future with highlights including:

  • Employees participated to earn 50 points toward the next incentive level (94.28%) and interested in reducing stress (85.3%).
  • Participants indicated they are very likely to participate in our next challenges: Get Moving UC (April 4-April 29; 85.72%) and Eat the Rainbow (June 20-July 29; 80%).
  • There is a lot of interest in our planned Year 2 challenges, which include: Choose this not that (91% interested), Defeat the Seat (89% interested), and Drink Up! (91% interested).
  • Employees gave additional feedback that shared their interest to see more engagement from colleagues and management and more programming on campus.

Our next challenge, Get Moving UC, April 4 to April 29, can be completed as an individual or as a team. Use the

tracking sheet

if you’d like to help you stay on track and earn up to 40 points ($40) for the 4-weeks. Any physical activity you do can be tracked and counted – whether it’s a run or a ride on a bike, or doing some gardening or chasing the kids. You make the call and add it to the portal each week (1 week grace period for adding activities). The goal is to see where there may be opportunities to add a little more activity in throughout the week. All are welcome to join and are eligible for additional prizes. Details and tracking sheet
