Foley Memorial Fund Donates to Breast Cancer Center
On Monday, Aug. 1, JoAnn Denzler and supporters of the Jeusha Foley Memorial Fund presented a check for $6,800 to members of the UC Cancer Institute's Breast Cancer Center to help patients needing treatment or supplies who do not have funds.
The money was raised during the Jerusha Foley Memorial Golf Outing, held June 18, where 22 teams of women participated and raised money for UC.
"Through the years, this group has raised more than $50,000 to support the education and other needs of our breast cancer patients, and we greatly appreciate these efforts," says Elyse Lower, MD, director of the Breast Cancer Center and a faculty member at the UC College of Medicine.
The fund was donated in memory of Jerusha Foley and Barbara "Bernie" Bernhardt, who were both patients of Breast Cancer Center Director Elyse Lower, MD, and passed away.
