Call for Nominations for Mr. Bearcat Award
Nominations are now open for the Mr. Bearcat Award, which is bestowed annually upon a graduating male student. The 2017 Mr. Bearcat Award, along with award finalists, will be presented at the 2017 All University Recognition Ceremony, which will take place at 4 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2017, in Tangeman University Center Great Hall.
The Mr. Bearcat Award recognizes and honors each years outstanding male senior graduate who has achieved academic success, demonstrated leadership in diverse settings and pursuits, and made a significant contribution to the university, all while displaying extraordinary Bearcat spirit. The award has been made annually since 1949 by Sigma Sigma, the UCs mens honorary society.
Candidates may be nominated by a student, university faculty or staff, or student organization.
The following items must be submitted no later than Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017:
- The completed nomination form
- Nomination letter from nominator (1 page)
- Candidates resume
- Short essay (1-2 pages) from the candidate on his contribution to the University of Cincinnati and Bearcat spirit
