Proposals Accepted for 'Learning & Teaching at UC' Conference

The University of Cincinnati's collaboration Learning & Teaching at UC (LT@UC) is now accepting submissions to present at its second-annual conference at Langsam Library on Oct. 10.

The LT@UC Conference celebrates, promotes and stimulates scholarship focused on 21st-century education. LT@UC welcomes proposals from regional UC faculty, graduate students, and staff to share their successes and challenges in learning and teaching in the 21st century.

Compelling proposals will address the needs of today’s learners and educators by focusing on aspects of reflection, metacognition and self-regulation in the learning process.

Presentations may be delivered as 20-minute academic presentations, 7-minute mini-lectures or poster sessions. Presenters will be encouraged and coached to develop their innovative approach for publication in the UC Journal for Research and Practice in College Teaching. Abstracts should focus on aspects of reflection, metacognition and self-regulation in the learning process.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:

LT@UC will also welcome John Dunlosky, Ph.D., as the keynote speaker for the conference. Dunlosky is professor of psychology at Kent State University. A major aim of his research program is to develop techniques to improve the effectiveness of people’s self-regulated learning across the life span. He most recently co-authored “Improving students’ learning with effective learning techniques: Promising directions from cognitive and educational psychology" in the journal Psychological Science in the Public Interest.
