UC Center for Professional Selling Named a 'Top University Sales Program' in North America
The University of Cincinnati Center for Professional Selling was recently named a Top University for Professional Sales Education program in North America by the Sales Education Foundation (SEF). SEF announced its 2017 list on Tuesday, April 18, and recognized UC for helping to prepare students for successful careers in professional selling. The North American and international universities that made this years list are profiled in SEFs 11th edition of ANNUAL magazine.
Professional selling is one of the most common careers chosen by students graduating with a sales degree. Recent research suggests that 60 percent of all business majors and 88 percent of all marketing majors begin their professional careers in a sales-related role. Upon graduation, Lindner students have recently accepted sales positions at some of the most prestigious companies across the United States, including DHL, EMC, Gartner, IBM, Oracle, and Procter & Gamble.
Sally Stevens, Executive Director of SEF, notes that companies should have an increased focus on partnering with university sales programs and hiring their graduates. In her 2017 Annual Letter from the Editor, she indicates that candidates from these (sales) programs are more prepared to align with their initial sales roles and to compete in the ever-changing global economy.
