Tobacco Free UC Continues to Thrive Across All Campuses

The Tobacco Free UC initiative continues to have a robust presence seven months after the policy effective date. Each campus has held several informative, interactive events since May 2017, and will continue offering support and resources into the upcoming year. These efforts continue to grow as part of grants, such as the Truth Initiative and Tobacco-Free Generation Campus Initiative with the the CVS Health Foundation and the American Cancer Society.

UC Clermont and UC East held successful cold-turkey events for students and employees. At these outreach events, useful giveaways were shared such as water bottles, quit kits, and information about tobacco cessation resources. UC Clermont utilized a portion of their grant funds for nicotine replacement patches and gum and offers them for free to their faculty, staff and students. Efforts at these branch campuses are led by Tobacco Free UC Steering Committee members and students.
