Calling All Blood Donors

Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati needs help from the Bearcat community to collect 600 units of blood during UC’s all-campus blood drive, Monday, April 9, through Friday, April 13.

The drive will take place on Tangeman University Center’s fourth floor in rooms ABC 10:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and a donor bus will be parked at McMicken Commons 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday. Additionally, drives will be taking place at UC Blue Ash, UC Clermont, UC Victory Parkway and the UC medical campus throughout the week.

“While we’re excited for the arrival of spring weather, the start of spring also kicks off an increase in blood usage,” said Alecia Lipton, Hoxworth spokesperson. “And we rely on the generosity of volunteer blood donors to fulfill that need. We have a goal to collect at least 600 units of lifesaving blood products next week, and we know the Bearcat community can help us reach that goal and support local patients.”

Lipton also noted that blood products collected will be used in the 31 area hospitals that Hoxworth serves.
