Cancer Survivors Celebrate With Cruise

Cancer survivors from the Tristate area are welcome to join hundreds of other local survivors for an afternoon of food, fun, entertainment, complimentary photos and prizes aboard a two-hour BB Riverboat Cruise on Sunday, June 1, 2003. Survivors and friends will board the Belle of Cincinnati from the Covington Landing in the local celebration of National Cancer Survivors Day. Reporter Bill Price of WCPO-TV is the guest emcee of the event.

“Cancer survivors from the Greater Cincinnati area celebrate another year of life at this event each year to show that (with early detection and treatment) cancer is a survivable disease,” said chairperson of this year's planning committee, Mary Fourth, manager, Barrett Cancer Center at The University Hospital.

“There is life after cancer, and it is gratifying to see the hundreds of survivors who look forward to this celebration every year,” said Sally Kash, director of the oncology services for Tri-Health.  Registration is required; each cancer survivor may bring one guest. The cost is $10 per person.
