Area Nurses Honored for Exceptional Patient Care
The honorees work in our community in a variety of ways. They help children get dental screenings, provide care and advocacy for indigent and mentally challenged people in But while they may have different responsibilities, they all share something in commondedication and commitment to exceptional patient care. Patients, family, friends of patients, colleagues, physicians and other health care workers in Greater Cincinnati nominated more than 400 nurses for this years awards, named for the founder of modern nursing. Six nurses will receive the Florence Nightingale Award and $1,000, and 10 nurses will receive the Deans Award and $400 each. The awards are funded by sponsors. The reception will be followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The awards ceremony is from 7:45 to 9 p.m. Nearly 900 people attended last years event.
