Gibler Appointed President & CEO of UC Health University Hospital
CINCINNATIW. Brian Gibler, MD, has been appointed president and chief executive officer of UC Health University Hospital and senior vice president of UC Health effective Oct. 1.
Gibler has served since 1995 as the Richard C. Levy Professor and chair of emergency medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Gibler also is the medical director of emergency services at University Hospital. He will step down as chair of emergency medicine when he assumes his new position at University Hospital.
A graduate of the UC Emergency Medicine Residency Training Program where he served as chief resident his senior year, Gibler joined the UC faculty in 1989 after coming from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville.
Gibler founded the Heart ER Program at University Hospital and served as the director from 1991 through 1997. He also was the executive co-chairman of CRUSADE, a national quality improvement initiative to develop hospital-based strategies to reduce instances of myocardial infarction. Gibler also is an editor and referee for numerous emergency medicine and cardiology journals.

UC Health is an affiliate of the University of Cincinnati and includes University of Cincinnati Physiciansthe faculty practice of the UC College of Medicineand University and West Chester hospitals. With over 9,500 health care professionals and 652 physicians, it represents the largest group of specialty physicians in Greater Cincinnati.
