Immediate Shutdown Necessary to Repair Water Main Break
There is a break in a chilled water main on East Campus, Maintenance & Operations reported shortly after 2 p.m. today (Monday, Aug. 22).
In order repair it, valves will need to be closed to isolate the broken section. There will be approxiately a two-hour shutdown immediately in order to evaluate the break.
The extended shutdown to do the repairs will occur later this evening when the outside temperature cools to an appropriate level.
The following buildings will be affected: Kettering Complex, Health Professions Building, Wherry Hall, Radiation Safety, Holmes Hospital and Eden Garage.
