Harvard Neurologist Will Discuss Music and the Brain

Gottfried Schlaug, MD, PhD, a neurologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard University, will present the Daniel L. Kline Neuroscience Lecture at noon Thursday, Sept. 15, in Kresge Auditorium. His topic will be, "Music Making Changes Brains: Implications for Brain Development, Brain Disorders, and Neurorehabilitation.”
 
Schlaug has conducted studies in the area of music and brain plasticity, including use of musical training to promote neuronal health, plasticity and recovery of function.
 
The lecture is sponsored by the Daniel L. Kline Neuroscience Fund, the Neuroscience Graduated Program, the UC Basic Neuroscience Center and the College-Conservatory of Music.
